Following assessment, Research England formally accepted the University's institutional Code of Practice for REF2021 on 8th November 2019. The Code of Practice has been prepared to meet the published requirements as set out in the REF 2021 CoP Guidance (REF 2019/03). The Code sets out the procedures that must be used by Unit of Assessment (UoA) Committees during the preparation of the REF2021 submission.
The Universuity submitted the draft of the Code of Practice to Research England in June 2019. No significant revisions to the core requirements of the Code were required as a result of Research England’s assessment process. As a result, the decisions taken to date by Units of Assessment based on the draft Code of Practice for the Mock REF exercise can be carried forward to inform the final key decisions on staff eligibility and output selection.
